BJD - Ball Jointed Dolls

Okay, I'm brave enough to open this topic. :3

Asian Ball Jointed Dolls... I don't know how to write about them. x"D I'm quite new in this fandom, I used to know them about 1.5 years ago or something like that...

So, If you have one, feel free to discuss about them. :3 If you're interested, feel free to ask! ^^

These dolls are... hm. So the point of it, that you can change your dolls hair, eyes, clothes, face-up (make-up thingie) as you want, and so you can have your own special doll.

Here's an official picture about the doll Luts Kid Delf Bory. (Luts is the firm, Kid Delf is the size= 41 cm= 16.1", Bory is the official name)

Here you can see how different they can be. Different hair, eyes, face-up and clothes.... different doll.

There's realistic faces, more anime-like with big eyes and cute face... everything you want. Just have the money for it. :"D

Yes, this is not a cheap hobby. I worked for Kamoku more than a month in summer... but I'm really satisfied with the result. :3 If you want the doll, work for it.^^'

I know this is not a whole guide about BJDs, but I don't know what to write. >< Please ask, I try to answer everything. :)

ZOMAIGOD YOU HAVE ONE?! I've always wanted to have one, but I don't think my parents would let me buying it. But I'm planning to get one one day.

Yepp, he arrivew home on 24th August. :3 Thought I have a really looooong wishlist of BJDs.... xD But I already have the head of my next boy called Yuuki. :] He will be around 63 cms tall. @.@ biiiig boy. <3

I hope you can get your doll. :] My opinion is if I earn the money, I can get what I want... so if you work for it, your parents will be more patient in this thing. ^^

I heard sometimes you can ask to BJD-make-up-used-girls~~ to make it !

And the animal BJD can be beautiful too but sometimes very strange I think !

^Nope, Kamoku's face-up is made by so-fiii~ (@da) I'm not good enough to make this, but I'm on my way to learn it. :3 (it's really hard thought. x_x )

Yepp, you can ask BJD owners, who can paint the dolls' face to face-up yours. Also in Hungary there's some nice girls, who make this. *-* Their works are just beautiful.

Or the other choice is the firms' artist, who paint the dolls like the official, or if there's an opportunity to choose custom face-up, they make it after your guide. But it's more expensive. : /

Haha, Kris as Uruha! xD So-fii will find this funny, because she has an another boy... he is more like Uruha. : D

My next doll will be a boy, yepp. He's name is Yuuki, and I already bought his head - this could sound weird, but you can buy heads and bodies alone, if you don't like the doll"s original body or something like that. So I have Yuuki's head at home (he's a Luts wintery event head - here's a pic of him, when he was at his former owner - -pikku- © Smaug.

Yepp, these dolls take a lot of time to be prepared~ I've waited more than a month for mine as well. The painting takes also a lot of time: a profession artist makes a face about 1-2-3 days long (for complicated face-ups). Natural ones takes 1 day or about 6-8 hours to make.

Wow that sound intense, no body could accuse collectors of just "playing with there dolls cause they cant grow up".

Yep yep I didn't knew that much about it before this summer.
It can be really artistic and very interesting.

I had a look at some of the other ones for sale on that site, if it wasnt for the fact I dont have that sort of money and am very much job free I think it is a hobbie I could easily find myself a part of.

You're right, they have some amazing make up. I wish I could do mine that well...

They're all beautifyl. Though my fav one is probably amber.
I like the elfish ones. I think I would get bored with a unicorn character.

There are a lot of dolls that I would buy if I had the money... xD But until I don't work as an adult, so not next to school, I don't want to buy these dolls, just Yuuki's body.

For exapmle, my lovelovelove girl, Agnetha. She's a natural beauty.

Whoa, the Centaur-doll! It's amazing, yepp. :3 But I think he's really heavy, he must be about 2-3-4 kilograms. :/ My doll is 0.5 kg and is really heavy. xD And I think the horse-body is a little bit... small for him? So it would be more realistic if it would be bigger.

What I liked the most in the Soom-Centaour was that the horse-body is really realistic... so also the muscles and stuff like that. There's an another centaour-like bjd by SoulDoll (Chiron centauroid ver.) but he's too muscular for me. : / And I feel like... there's someting wrong with his body. The legs are ok, but his stomach-part... (I don't know how to write this in English -.-') it's too thin. oO'''
